I was named Principal of Glenwood in November of 2016 after serving as the Assistant Principal at Estes Hills Elementary for four years. Prior to going into Administration, I was a physical education and health teacher at Olive Chapel Elementary in my hometown of Apex, NC for 15 years. I earned a BA in Education and Psychology from UNC-CH in 1997, my National Board Certification in 2001 and, in 2013, earned my Master of School Administration. During my teaching tenure, I was honored as Olive Chapel Teacher of the Year, Wake County PE Teacher of the Year, Wake County Teacher of the Year semi-finalist and WRAL TV's Teacher of the Week. Most recently, I was both humbled and honored to be named the Chapel Hill- Carrboro 2016-17 Assistant Principal of the Year. I have been married to my husband Pete, who is also an educator, for 20 years and am the proud Mom of Chris (17) and Brendan (14).
In my spare time, I play co-ed softball, enjoy traveling and cheer for the Tar Heels.

I joined the Glenwood staff in January 2017. I began my career in education as a science teacher at Smith Middle School here in Chapel Hill. While there I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Science and served as the Instructional Technology Facilitator (ITF). I also had the pleasure of coaching cross country and ultimate frisbee for a number of years. I received both my BA in Middle Grades Science and Master of School Administration degrees from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
